I understand mathematically why the probability of picking a specific point on the circumference of a circle is 0. But when I (/someone) place my pencil on a circle, the event happened, aren’t these two contradictory? What am I missing intuitively?

As soon as you "pick" something, probability is out of the window as you are using your free will to choose something and that process is no longer random.
