Why do Indian parents (financially) support their children and make all the major life decisions for them while parents from the West set their children free?

Objectively, Indian parents love their children more than their western counterparts. They are very emotionally invested in their children. Many dysfunctional families continue on for the sake of children. They sacrifice their life savings for the education of their children. Children are very very ungrateful, still they would do anything for the benefit of the children. Children don't see the sacrifice, but only complain about the control of the parents, still the parents are always sacrificing. Mothers cook food for their children everyday, even when they are sick.

PS: I know many of my Indian friends will come with comments like, "How can you say that Indian parents love their children more than western parents?" When, they can say that "Scandinavian countries are the happiest countries in the world," I can also say, "Indian parents are more loving than western parents."
